Cat's Cradle
As a child jasmand would keenly watch how the weavers in his village first made the warp and then weaved the weft through the warp! He imagined them as some kind of magicians, particularly when an entangled warp and weft was disentangled by them so skilfully. The weavers, jasmand would thought, were playing the game of cat's cradle, only much more complicated! Later in life, jasmand realised that problems of the grown ups too are like the game of cat's cradle; the difference being only in the level of complexity. Interweaving and entanglement are two sides of the same coin. How will you interpret this abstract (Oils on canvas 24"x9" - July 2018) ?
