Born in a small village in Punjab, jas mand acquired a degree in English Honours from Punjab, L.L.M. Honours and Ph.D. in International Law from Moscow.

​

During the 13 years of  job, jas mand hopped from Jawaharlal Nehru University to the Government of India to trading firms to owning businesses in India and the United States. His last assignment as the Managing Trustee (pro bono) was with Nawan Zamana, a  daily newpaper in Punjabi.

​

At the age of 44, jas mand decided to quit regular job in order to follow his heart: reading, writing, travelling and painting.

​

Apart from painting canvases, he has written books in English & Punjabi. He also writes on current affairs for Punjabi newspapers.

​

jas mand lives with his wife, Rita and three dogs (Brownshe, Chhutka & Kaali)  in a tiny village in Punjab (during winters), and in a tinier village in the Himalayas (during summers).
